Vevo NYC Launch Party With Video & Photos



The Vevo launch party was held at Skylight Studios in New York City last night (Dec.8) for the new online music video service.
50 Cent, Lady Gaga, John Mayer, Corrine Bailey Rae, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Rihanna and others were on hand for the event.

Block Entertainment Teams Up With EMI's Capitol Records



EMI Music’s Capitol Records continues building its urban roster by teaming up with Atlanta based Block Entertainment, the formidable label with chart topping success from artists such as Yung Joc, Boyz N’ The Hood, and Gorilla Zoe For its first project together, Block,will work with Capitol on a new release from new rap artist Kollosus, whose album will debut in the spring of 2010.



Kollosus recently gained attention with his buzzworthy song, “Settin’ Standards,” which featured fellow Atlanta all-star Gucci Mane. The single, “Breakin’ Bread,” is heating up in the streets and headed to radio in January 2010. The infectious song showcases the 23-year-old rapper’s confident flow, laid back but in-your-face verbal agility on the mic and is sure to be a club banger.

“Block Entertainment is a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop arena; they have continuously churned out undeniable hip hop stars,” said Leonard Brooks, SVP Urban A&R, EMI Music. “As we grow Capitol’s urban roster, this association with Block Entertainment makes perfect sense. Snoop Finds Home For New Album And Becomes Creative Chairman For Label

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has been named Creative Chairman for EMI Music’s Priority Records Label, and will release a new studio album, Malice N Wonderland, his 10th studio CD, on the label in December, will have production and mixing by The-Dream, Christopher 'Tricky' Stewart, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Danja, Nottz, and will feature cameos by Soulja Boy, Lil Jon, R. Kelly, The-Dream, Brandy and Jazmine Sullivan. As Creative Chairman of the label that established West Coast rap as an influential musical force, Snoop will “re-launch its legacy and drive efforts to maximize digital and branding opportunities.” Not to mention smoke enough herb to prompt the purchase of an office vaporizer. He will also serve as Executive Producer for a new series of Priority releases slated to begin hitting the market next year to commemorate the label's 25th anniversary, which includes classic recordings by Snoop, as well as N.W.A, Eazy-E, Master P, Ice Cube, Westside Connection and EPMD, among others.
