Three 6 Mafia: Juicy J Sells Southern California Home

via the Los Angeles Times hot properties section.
Oscar-winning rapper Juicy J has sold his Sherman Oaks house for $1.82 million, the MLS shows.
The Tuscan-style home, built in 1955 but entirely remodeled, has a two-story entry; a family room with a wet bar and stone fireplace; a kitchen with stainless-steel appliances and an island; a master bedroom suite with a balcony and sitting area; a master bathroom with a fireplace, spa tub and steam shower; and maid's quarters. With six bedrooms and six bathrooms, the home is 5,849 square feet. Outdoor space includes a pool with spa and an open-air kitchen.
The record producer and co-founder of the hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia won an Academy Award with DJ Paul and Crunchy Black in 2006 for the original song "It's Hard Out There for a Pimp." It was featured in the 2005 film "Hustle & Flow," in which Juicy J also had an acting part. More recently he has written music for "WWE SmackDown vs. Raw" videogames (2007-09) and the TV show "Numb3rs" (2008).
Juicy J, 35, bought the canyon-view house in 2007 for $2 million, according to public records, and had a buyer within two weeks of putting it on the market.

8Ball & MJG 'Ten Toes Down' New Release Available April 6

via the press release
Push Management/Grand Hustle/E1 Music is happy to announce the release of "Ten Toes Down," the highly anticipated new album by Memphis legends 8Ball & MJG. The album will be released on Push Management/Grand Hustle/E1 Music on April 6th, 2010.
Grand Hustle co-founder and hip hop icon T.I. states, "I'm happy to be working with America's #1 independent, E1 Music."
"Ten Toes Down" features Snoop Dogg, T.I., Bun B, David Banner, Young Dro with production by Frank Nitti of Nitti Beats, Drumma Boy, David Banner, Nard & B, and Mo B. Dick.
Ever since the duo's 1993 successful debut, "Comin' Hard," 8Ball & MJG have been at the forefront of the southern rap movement. They went on to release 11 albums, several of which went gold. Their 2004 "Livin Legends" album peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top 200. The duo later teamed up with Three 6 Mafia for the latter's hit single "Stay Fly," which brought both Memphis groups much success.
Grand Hustle's Jason Geter comments, "T.I.and I were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Ball & Gee from the very beginning. We've both been fans, and this new album is classic Ball & Gee material & we're excited for the world to hear it."
8Ball adds, "'Ten Toes Down,' in my opinion, is one of the best 8Ball & MJG albums ever. It's a heart-felt, soul-filled, portion of the lives of 8Ball & MJG. 8Ball & MJG sounds and feels like 8Ball & MJG on this album 4sho!"
Dewayne "Duprano" Martin, CEO, Push Management says, "The 8Ball & MJG / PUSH Management / E1 Music /Grand Hustle partnership is all about bringing the Urban Legends' music back to the streets."
E1 Music President Alan Grunblatt adds, "I'm thrilled to work with 8Ball & MJG again. E1 and Grand Hustle will be unstoppable."

Yo Gotti Live From The Kitchen Interview

via SoJones
SoJones: You started in 2000, worked with so many artists in the game (Gucci Mane, Plies, Lil Wayne to name a few), and your next release “Live From The Kitchen” drops next year (interview conducted in '09). Tell me a little about the new album.
Yo Gotti: Well you know the new album is out 1st quarter next year. I’ve been working with a lot of producers like Cool and Dre, J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Jim Jones, Hot Rod (who made “5 Star Chick”), lots of producers…
SoJones: You hit the top rap charts with “ridiculous” ft. Gucci Mane & OJ Da Juiceman, and currently you had a spot on the new Clipse record. What was it like working with the Clipse?
Yo Gotti: Those are my homeboys, we work all the time. I’m a fan of the Clipse music so, when they reached out for me to get on the record, I’m gonna get on it. I think it’s a good response, me being on the record.
SoJones: It really was. I was always curious, how did you get the name Yo Gotti?
Yo Gotti: It was like a nickname that they gave me in the neighborhood, before I even got serious into rapping, so it was already my nickname. Then once my music jumped off, we just kept it the same.
SoJones: You and Gucci Mane I noticed have a really keen ear for beats. What your process for picking beats?
Yo Gotti: I get 1,000 beats a week. Good beats stick out, you know what I mean? You hear it when it first come on; if a beat can rock the club with no words on it, that’s the beat you wanna rap on.

Yo Gotti Interview

via BallerStatus
BallerStatus.com: Your new album is entitled Live from the Kitchen. What is behind the title and what is the official album release date?
Yo Gotti: Live from the Kitchen is basically where I'm preparing the plan. The kitchen is one of my favorite spots. We ain't got the exact date right now, you know, we just got it in the oven on preheat. We ain't gonna take it out too early or too late.
BallerStatus.com: Why did you choose "5 Star Chick" for the first single? How did you team up with Rick Ross for the video?
Yo Gotti: "5 Star Chick" was really supposed to be like a record we just put out like a pre single or a warm-up song and the sh** just took off. Rick Ross is my homeboy. I've been knowing him since he first dropped that "Everyday I'm Hustlin'." We always reach out to each other if we are in Miami or if we're in the same city. It was just a matter of calling him to see if he was in Atlanta and he was there, so I told him to come through the video.
BallerStatus.com: Producers Cool & Dre appear on Live from the Kitchen. What was it like working with Cool & Dre? What songs are they responsible for on the album?
Yo Gotti: Well, when we got to laying out the album, we just wrote down all of the producers we wanted to work with and Bryan Leach went and set the whole thing up for me. Cool & Dre are real musical people. They did the beat and I laid the track and when I came back the next day, they had changed the whole beat and enhanced it. They take what they do very seriously, just like I take what I do serious, so it was a good experience. I have two records with them that I know are gonna make the album, one is called "Teenage Numbers" with Rick Ross and one is named "Jail Pictures."
