50 Cent Shows Up For A Gig At German Brothel
Talk about pimping and pandering...
via ITN
50 Cent has been pictured in a German table dancing club.
The US rapper was there for business rather than pleasure though.
He chose Pascha - one of Europe's largest brothels - to hold a concert.
Around 200 fans turned up for the intimate gig in Cologne after a ticket giveaway by a local radio station.
Whilst there, Fiddy performed tracks from his fourth album Before I Self Destruct.
National and international artists increasingly use the naughty image of the club to promote their work. The Pascha rents rooms to more than 100 prostitutes who negotiate directly with clients rather than working for a pimp.

50 Cent 'Before I Self Destruct' Squeaks Out 160K First Week Album Sales

50 Cent and 50's label Interscope really turned on the heat with 2 in-store events in the Tri-state area and a week earlier jumpstart with iTunes which brought in 46k adding to the mix. 50's last record 'Curtis' bore 691K first week with a little help from the Kanye West sales competition. With overall sales down and the public's interest in 50 Cent down 'Before I Self Destruct' 160K Nielsen/Soundscan number is probably on target sales wise, but some what of a disappointment for 50 and hip hop in general.

50 Cent 'Before I Self Destruct' On Track To Sell 140K-150K For 1st Week

According to Hits Daily Double based on first day sales and the digital round up, 50 Cent's 'Before I Self Destruct' is on track to sell between 140k-150k in it's first full fledged week of release. The Hits Daily Double numbers will become more firmer a day prior (on Tuesday, November 24) to the Nielsen/Soundscan (the industry standard) numbers as we will see next Wednesday, November 25.
It was also revealed that the exclusive iTunes release of 50's 'Before I Self Destruct' available November 9 sold 46K of its digital formated release which is added to the grand total of sales as it stands. (read related post below for more info).
On a side note, G-Unit's 'Terminate On Sight' sold a little over a 100K in it's first week back in the Summer of 2008. Amazing how things change.

50 Cent: Fudging the Numbers?

Hits Daily Double rumor mill section posted yesterday Monday, November 9.
With 50 Cent’s new album, Before I Self Destruct, available digitally starting today, in advance of the actual album in-stores on Nov. 16, SoundScan has already confirmed it will combine downloads and physical sales when the release debuts on the chart of Nov. 24. That leaves some to question whether the other big releases of that week, including John Mayer, Norah Jones and Idol winner Kris Allen, will follow suit. The only previous time Billboard did something similar was with Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy album. Expect plenty of carping about the seeming inconsistency of the music industry bible’s decision.
(Wasn't Guns N' Roses first album called 'Appetite For Destruction?', just saying.)

Will 50 Cent 'Before I Self Destruct' Get Pushed Up?

Some developments have happen to negate the leaks on 50 Cent's upcoming album 'Before I Self Destruct', according to 50's manager Chris Lighty's Tweets (as seen on The Hip Hop Update)

Breaking: 50 Cent's Upcoming Album Starts Leaking...
50 Cent's first album in two years, Before I Self Destruct, started leaking late this afternoon, nearly a month before its November 23rd release date. The news began spreading via a handful of hip-hop sites, and bloggers began immediately redistributing the album through one-click hosting sites like HotFile. Data partner BigChampagne subsequently confirmed the accuracy of the claims.
The leaked album is marked as the "International Version," though it contains all of the officially announced tracks minus the iTunes bonus material. But the lower sound quality indicates that it is likely from a streaming source - not a CD as the file claims.
The leak marks another blow to 50 Cent's reputed strict demands on quality control. The leak of the "Follow My Lead" video back in 2007 was alleged to have pushed the promotional strategy for Curtis off the rails.
Keep in mind that, after losing a hugely-publicized album sales bet to Kanye West in 2007, 50 declared that he would never make another album (though he didn't say anything about mixtapes). Yet, here it is: the follow-up to Curtis that 50 now claims will "revolutionize hip-hop".
