Slaughterhouse announce release date

On July 7th 2009, E1 Music is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated debut album from Slaughterhouse -- the hip hop super-group featuring four of the most lyrical MCs in the game -- Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9", Joe Budden and Crooked I.

The group came together only 10 short months ago when Joe Budden was working on a song for his "Halfway House" album and enlisted the services of Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9" for a song called "Slaughterhouse." Inspired by the vibe of track and the immediate chemistry of the four rappers, a plan was immediately made to form the super-group. Several songs and a handful of viral videos later only created increased demand and curiosity from fans. Hip-hop heads demanded to hear more! And now they'll be able to.

The fearsome foursome is now in the studio recording songs for its official upcoming debut album. The album will feature production by The Alchemist, Streetrunner, DJ Khalil and Denaun Porter.

Among working track titles of songs set to be included on the album are "Not Tonight," "Microphone," "Number 1" and "Cuckoo."

Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5'9" weighs in, "This group is really something special and this summer I'm excited to show the world what we have to offer! If you thought that we were just gonna release a few tracks to the net and then disappear you are in for a very rude awakening."

On May 19, the leading music rights organization Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) held its 57th Annual Pop Awards, honoring Gamble & Huff as BMI Icons.

Held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, the invitation-only ceremony was hosted by BMI President & CEO Del Bryant and BMI Vice President/General Manager, Los Angeles, Barbara Cane and also recognized the writers and publishers of the past year's 50 most-performed pop songs.

The evening's capstone was a musical tribute to Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff. Gavin DeGraw sang "If You Don't Know Me By Now," Estelle performed "Don't Leave Me This Way," and Michael Bublé delivered his rendition of "Me and Mrs. Jones." Grammy- winning superstar Sean Paul is set to unveil his highly anticipated fourth album “Imperial Blaze”. It took him over three years to complete this new album, but now it’s finally there. The single “So Fine” gives us a foretaste about what we can look forward to. A real summer hit, but we couldn’t expect less of Sean Paul. Although… his style, still dancehall, has "grown" since the release of his previous platinum- certified album “The Trinity”.

On the new album, the lyrics evolved from “disco- party and women” to more deep and personal subjects. Such as “Hold My Hand”, “Pepperpot”and “Straight To My Heart”, which is a tribute to his mother. This new flow is not only noticeable in the lyrics but in the tempo of the songs too. Of course the most successful Jamaican artist of all times in the U.S charts, still produces dancehall like no other. But on this album the up- tempo songs are alternate with more reggae and dancehall-ballad.

Since the release of his latest album, Sean Paul travelled and toured all around the world. His trip to Africa was a true inspiration on personal and professional level. His Jamaican roots conferred the identification with the African music and style.

The final album will be released on August 18, 2009 and contains 17 tracks. Sean and his team will shoot the video of the album's first single in Miami during the week of the Memorial Day.

One Stop Shop Producers Conference Beat Battle Winner

Last weekend over five hundred aspiring and established producers from the UK, the Caribbean, Australia, Canada and America, congregated in Phoenix, AZ for the ANNUAL ONE STOP SHOP PRODUCER CONFERENCE. For the third consecutive year Sha Money XL and his team went above and beyond in presenting to the next generation of music's producers, execs, managers and artists a weekend filled with informative panels and networking opportunities.

Panels moderated by MTV on-air personality Sway, Angela Yee of Shade 45, Chuck Creekmur of Allhiphop.com and more were both educational and featured the best of the best in the Hip-Hop business, discussing all aspects of the industry. This year One Stop Shop also played host to artists such as B.o.B, Q-Tip, Reflection Eternal and more allowing attendees the opportunity to see these entertainers perform live.

The highlight of the weekend was, as in previous years, the Beat Battle which was won this year by Montreal native Mathieu 'Billboard' Jomphe. The 20 year old who had quit his job to migrate south for the weekend blew the audience away with his production. "The thing that amazed me the most about winning was the fact that my beats are more R&B," Billboard said after winning the coveted title. "You see those huge names in Hip-Hop on that stage and you can't help but be a little bit nervous."

Impressing the likes of Just Blaze, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Don Cannon and 9th Wonder with his versatile, polished and cohesive tracks, Billboard made a huge impact on all those at ONE STOP SHOP."The crazy thing with Billboard was his music got included for an on air beat battle I was doing with a radio station, but then he let me know he wasn't in Arizona and couldn't take part but was coming to the conference," Sha Money XL explains. "His music felt like what I would be vibing to in a club, big sounds and club rocking drums and everyone there was feeling it too."

Each year the winner of the notorious Beat Battle has hailed from a different country which proves that this conference is an attraction that reaches . With plans to take the ONE STOP SHOP on the road in the next year Sha Money XL is keen for this networking opportunity to benefit countries where there is a void in the market. "We are open to taking this concept to other countries and with that being said we might explore making the conference international. Perhaps even Toronto, Canada next.'

Sacramento's Brotha Lynch Hung signs with Strange Music

When Dave Weiner, Vice President of Strange Music West, first heard BROTHA LYNCH HUNG's certified Gold classic Season of da Siccness (1995), he was blown away. The man responsible for signing Master P to Priority Records in the mid-'90s, as well as orchestrating the joint venture that Tech N9ne and Strange Music entered into with JCOR, now has the honor of bringing BROTHA LYNCH to the Strange Music family.

Strange Music is already one of the most successful independent music labels in the world - in 2008, its flagship artist, Tech N9ne, SoundScanned over one million units, making him one of the most successful independent Hip-Hop artists in history.

Outside of just having the parlor, there is a rolling RV available for on the spot tattoos and private "tattoo" parties! All summer long keep your eyes open for the truck; you never know who's going to be hoppin' on or off. There will be some of the flyest DJ'S spinning the hottest tunes as we move about the city on the RV, FRESH giveaways will be provided by Gino Green Global- we'll be all over NYC and poppin' up at numerous events!

Jagged Edge signs with Slip n Slide

Slip N Slide Records, one of the top independent labels in the industry founded by Ted Lucas, is gearing up for another ground-breaking and exciting year with the signing of Grammy nominated and chart-topping R&B super group Jagged Edge. The group is in the studio now working on new material for their upcoming album scheduled for release on Slip N Slide Records in 2010.

Drake first California show scheduled for San Bernardino

As one of hip hops hottest prospects, young actor-turned-rapper, Drake will be performing live at the ASU Fox Theatre in San Bernardino, CA. Fans anxiously await Drake's first solo performance in California after he concludes a highly successful, sold-out tour with Grammy Award winning artist Lil Wayne. Drake, this Toronto bred rapper, who originally gained his fame by playing the role of basketball star Jimmy Brooks on the teen TV show Degrassi, has built an incredible buzz for himself. Now billed as hip hops "Next Fresh Prince", Drake recently released his most popular mix tape to date, "So Far So Gone", featuring his own mentor, Lil Wayne, and including his first single 'Best I Ever Had' which has rapidly incurred over 30 million plays on Myspace. The concert is expected to sell out to over 2000 people, and, the buzz over the nations most demanded up and coming artist is on the verge catapulting to an entirely different level.
