Epic Records retired Chairman mourns the loss of Micheal Jackson

Retired Epic Records Chairman David R. Glew who worked closely with Michael during the most prolific time of his career, issued a statement regarding the loss of one of the world's greatest entertainers.

"I join with my colleagues at Epic Records and Sony Music, along with music fans all over the world, in mourning the loss of my dear friend Michael Jackson. I had the privilege of working closely with Michael over a 15 year period, which culminated in the release of History: Past, Present and Future, Book 1, the top selling multiple disc release of all time. Michael gave us all the greatest gift: extraordinary, timeless music that transcended the norm and resonated with people all over the planet. From heartland America to the favelas of urban Rio de Janeiro, his heart, soul, and creative energy brought unbridled joy to the world's music fans. All at Epic Records and Sony Music were privileged to bring that music to the people with the passion one feels when delivering a heartfelt gift to a loved one. My wife Ann and I offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to Michael's three children, his family, and the entire world of music fans brought together as one by Michael Jackson's legendary musical and creative genius. He will be sorely missed."
