Jennifer Hudson VH1's Behind The Music

Airing happened last night on VH1. In cased you missed the full episode, here you go.

about this episode via the press release:

This episode of "Behind The Music" will trace Jennifer Hudson's humble beginnings of growing up with her close knit family on the south side of Chicago to her early elimination from "American Idol." After "Idol," Jennifer found fame with a starring role in "Dream Girls" that earned her every major movie award Hollywood could bestow including an Academy Award®. Just after becoming engaged to the love of her life and releasing her self-titled debut album, Jennifer was devastated by the unspeakable tragedy of losing her mother, brother and nephew in a horrifying triple murder. For the very first time, Jennifer talks candidly about overcoming such a painful time in her life and her triumphant return to the public eye on the night she won her first Grammy® Award. Now a mother herself, this episode features exclusive footage of Jennifer interacting with her son David Jr. as she strives to raise her son in the same loving environment her mother created for her. In addition to Jennifer, "Behind The Music" has interviewed Jennifer's sister Julia, Randy Jackson, fiance David Otunga, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Whitney Houston, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Clive Davis and many others.

The Niceguys - 'Not At All' Ft. Jack Freeman (video)

About the video:

The Niceguys release their video for "Not At All", The first from their latest EP The Green Room. Filled with alcohol, girls, and even pyrotechnics, this video covers all the basic elements of a cliché hip-hop video. Luckily, The Niceguys are only poking fun at the mainstream, with over exaggerations of these clichés, clearly pointed out throughout the video. Free, one of two producers in self-contained Houston, Texas foursome, explains, "It's basically a satrical take on the art of making a hip hop video."

The concept of the video is satire, and like all good satire it's artfully done, as the song rightfully deserves. Although director Danny Ocean is clearly capable of making a mainstream hip-hop video, he chose, instead, to utilize his talents to make fun of them this time around. "I guess we wanted to show poeple that you can have fun and do you without compromising the quality of the product," says Ocean. "The beats will remain at a pristine level, and the lyrics will always amaze."

In fact, the video paints a perfect picture of what the whole song is about: making serious music, but having fun in doing so. Says Niceguys front-man, and Queens, New York native Yves Saint, "We are just poking fun at everyone who said I wasn't lyrical enough and those that act like its a crime to have fun, even if it's typical fun. People take themselves so seriously."

“Welcome to the Darkside” (Scram Jones production) features a few clever lines and hard production. Ends with “We gone throw the biggest party when Curtis die.” Draw your own conclusion.

Cool & Dre keep that flame hot on “Valley Of Death”. Very low bottoms, guitars, and loud ambient noise. Scorching hot.

Just Blaze gave Joe an immense, bottomless beat for “I Am Crack” and Joe delivers one of the all time gully songs speaking as the drug itself. “It’s Crack, baby minus the incubator.” Sick.

The “Kilo is 1000 grams” sample first flipped by Ghost is somersaulted by DJ Infamous on “Kilo” which features The Clipse and Cam’ron. Very, very ugly. Infamous bodies “Rappers Are In Danger” as well.

Scoop DeVille wrecks a Flash Gordon sample like his momma is in a basement with Bin Laden on the titanic “You Don’t Want No Problems”. You have to hear it to believe it. “Weezy On the Island where a Day feel Like A Milli”. More sickness.

R. Kelly drops by on “How Did We Get Here” returning to his more soulful delivery.

“Heavenly Father” feat Lil Wayne gets on Pun’s widow and deads any notion that he owes her anything.

DJ Premier-produced “I’m Gone” closes the album. It was produced the day Guru died and is triumphantly somber with punctuating piano but an immensely chunky string and hard drum create the perfect storm of malevolent sorrow.
